Joe embarked on his investment career in 1995 as a Registered Representative with the Equitable Life Insurance Company in San Antonio, TX.

After leaving Equitable Life in 1997, Joe spent several years working as a Financial Advisor at Citibank and Merrill Lynch. Following his tenure at Merrill Lynch, he joined Alliance Capital Management, Inc. as an Associate Wholesaler, where he focused on the sales and marketing of mutual funds and financial products to brokerage firms in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, CA. He leveraged that experience to transition into a Field Wholesaler role with Hartford Leaders, overseeing Variable Annuity and 401(k) sales to brokerage firms across Texas.

In 2007, Joe founded IBTX Wealth Management, where he established a retirement plan division managing over 35, 401(k) plans and $100 million in assets. During this period, he also worked as a Financial Advisor with Dominion Investor Services and Dominion Portfolio Management.

An enthusiastic outdoorsman, Joe enjoys hunting, fishing, and golfing. He also dedicates time to community service through his church cooking team, “The Holy Smokers.”

Joe is happily married to Joni Rust and is the proud father of three boys: JC, Louie, and Jake.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Texas A&M University and holds a Series 65 license.
